TOP FIVE BEST MOVIES OF ALL TIMES ( IMDB )

This list contains the best five movies of all time according to the voters in IMDB , i tend to agree with them , these movies are legendary , and it's not rotten tomato so you know it's legit (rotten tomato are a bunch of stupid idiots )

1: THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (1994) 9.2

This masterpiece is considered by many the greatest movie ever made , it is a 1994 American drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont, ( god bless his soul ) based on the 1982 Stephan King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption , you can never go wrong with Stephan King , i can hardly think of something awful made by this absolute icon , the movie tells the story of Andy Dufresne a Banker played by Tim Robbins , who gets sentenced to life , in Shawshank state penitentiary , for the murder of his wife and her lover , although he was claiming to be innocence , during his time in Shawshank Andy become friend with a fellow prisoner and a contraband smuggler known as "RED" played by the one and only Morgan Freeman ( he was not free in this movie ) he got Andy a rock hammer and a large poster of Rita Hayworth , Andy went to become apart of a money-laundering operation made by the prison warden Samuel Norton played by Bob Gunton ( Gunton indeed ) , i have seen this movie several times , loved it each time , one of the best movies i have ever seen , during his time in prison Andy was frequently Sexually assaulted by the "sisters" he did not let that break his will to live , Andy fought back as hard as he could untel he got red of them , in 949 he overheard the captain of the prison guards complain about being taxed on his wife inheritance , that how he got into the money-laundering business ( it good to know stuff , you'll never know when it can turn out to be useful ) in 1965 Andy and Red become friends with a young prisoner called Tommy , Andy helped him pass his General Educational Development exam ( GED) , a year later Tommy told Andy that his cellmate in his previous prison had claimed responsibility for his wife and lover murders for which Andy was put in prison for, Andy told the warden but he would not listen , instead he puts him in solitary , after that the warden had Tommy killed for opening his mouth , Andy had enough after he got out of solitary he tells his friend red about his dream of living in a town in Mexico called Zihuatanejo ( cool name ) , he then gives him the coordinates of a package he left him incase he was released from prison , the day after Andy was missing from his cell , he was no where to be found , turns out Andy had been digging a hole in the wall with his rock hammer for 19 years , under the Rita poster ,using the sewage pipes to escape , Andy went on to take the wardens money , and giving evidence of the money-laundering to the police , the warden shot himself after that , the next year Red was finally paroled after serving 40 years , he then went on to meet his friend Andy . This movie is a masterpiece . 

2: THE GOD FATHER (1972) 9.2

I have seen many amazing movies , as well as some clunkers , but the Godfather was beyond amazing , it is so incredibly well-made and acted that stands out among the rest of wonderful movies , the movie is a little bit slow paced , plus the plot takes a while to unfold , in fact the slow pacing adds to the quality of the movie , for some people the cinematography was horrid , for others it was one of the best assets of the film , the movie won 3 academy awards , including best picture and best adapted screenplay , based on the Mario Puzo novel , The God Father is a 1972 American crime film directed by Francis Ford Coppola , the film stars Marlon Brando , Al Pacino , James Can ( do i need to say more my god what an amazing cast ) , the film is set in 1945 New York City ,as the Corleone crime family Don Vito Corleone , listens to request during his daughter wedding , Johnny Fontane Vito's grand son seeks his help to secure a movie role , Vito then sends his consigliere ,Ton Hagen to persuade the studio owner to offer Jonny the part , but he refuses , but he soon complies after they chopped his hors head off ( such an effective way to get things done xd) , as Christmas was near, drug lord Sollozzo asks the don to invest in his narcotics business and to protect him from the law , Vito said no , that sparked a series of violence including Vito getting shoot and his main man getting killed by the Tattaglia crime Family , with Vito being unfit to take commend his first born son Sonny took over , he went on to take revenge for brasi's death with a hit on Bruno Tattaglia , later on Michel Vito's son showed up , he went on to kill Sollozo and a courepted police captain  ,things escalated  quickly and a war between the Five families begins  , Michel took refuge in Sicily Italy , Sonny was ambushed and killed by gangsters at a highway toll both , in Italy Michel married a local women but she got killed in a car bomb intended for him , devastated by his own son death Vito set a meeting with the five families , he then agreed to their narcotics business and that he wont avenge his son death , after that Michel took over as leader , in 1955 Vito dies of heat attack and Michel took took revenge by killing the dons the five families .I tried to make at as short as possible but if you haven't seen the movie something is wrong with you .

3: THE DARK KNIGHT ( 2008) 9.0

why so serious?

The dark knight is a 2008 superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan ( a legend ) , based on the DC Comics superhero , Batman ( Batman is my favorite superhero ) the movie is the sequel to Batman begins , and the second installment in the Dark Knight Trilogy , it's often considered the greatest comic book movie of all time , yes it is that epic , Heat ledger's ( who passed away too young ) portrayal of the joker is arguably the best incarnation of the joker character to date , ( Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing job playing the joker 2019 one of the best performances i have ever seen ), Ledger made an amazing job portraying the joker in his insane and unpredictable and utterly terrifying ways with his impeccable acting skills , the film begins with the joker taking the money of a gang of masked criminals after they rob a bank in Gotham city , the joker outsmarted them all and escapes with the cash , the vigilante Batman , district attorney Harvey Dent , and police lieutenant Jim Gordon formed an alliance to take out Gotham's organized crime , the mafia bosses gathered to discuss protecting their business , the joker interrupts the meeting and offers to kill the Batman , they accepted  his offer , the joker starts killing people left and right until the Batman unmasks him self , dent claimed to be the batman to lure the joker , the joker got captured by Gordon and Batman ( what follows is one of the best movie scenes i have ever watched gives me the chills every time ) batman confronted joker who drops the bomb on him ( not literally ) saying he got his lovely Rachel and dent in buildings rigged with explosives  and that the batman have to make a choice , Rachel get killed in the explosion after the joker switched their positions , while Dent's face got burned half of it at least , the joker manage to escape from custody , after that Coleman Reese a nobody said he is going to expose te batman true identity  , the joker threatens to blow up a hospital unless the nobody gets killed , while the police deal with the chaos , the joker went to see half face dent , he then convinces him to take revenge on Rachel's death , as panic grips the city the joker reveals that he rigged two evacuation ferries to explode at midnight unless one groups kills another , the passengers refuse to do that and th joker was in disbelief , batman took the opportunity to catch the joker , night was not over yet , cause dent got hold off Gorden's family blaming him for Rachel's death , but the batman got there in time and saves the day , while taking the blame for dent's death , the city than mourns dent as a hero while batman was chases by the police .

4: THE GODFATHER PART2 ( 1974)

following the massive success of the first movie , The Godfather part 2 is a 1974 American epic crime film , which was produced and directed by Francis Ford Coppola , the movie jumps between events after the Godfather and the earlier life of Vito Corleone , in which his family was killed in Sicily when he was 9years old , after his father insulted a mafia boss , after that Vito went to live in New York where he meets his now wife Carmela , Vito's criminal life starts with him helping his neighbor Peter Clemenza by hidden a bag of guns , after that Vito , Clemenza and a new partner Salvator Tessio started making income by stealing goods ( shocking) and reselling them , after a while this operation attracts the attention of a man named Fanucci , who extorts Vito and his partners , he was later killed by Vito in his apartment , Vito then become an enforcer helping locals in exchange for favors ( what kinda Favors you might ask , you know ) , he become well-respected in the community , in 1923 Vito went to Sicily Italy , he then paid a visit to Don Ciccio with his partner Don Tommasino , Ciccio asked for Vito's father name , he reveals it and stabs Ciccio to death , avenging his family (that was an amazing scene ) , going back to Michael , Vito's son who was attempting to expand his family's criminal empire , in order to do that he strikes a deal with a gangster known as Hyman Roth , unaware of the incoming lurking danger ,the film is very well made and the cinematography in simply gorgeous , plus the settings are wondrous . the music just like the first one is outstanding , it will stick in your head for a long time , the screenplay is brilliantly written , thoughtful and intelligent , direction is on point , the acting is superb as for the first one , it is one of the best performances by Robert Deniro , overall such an amazing film and one of the best sequels ever , cause sequels in general are not as good as the first movie .

5: 12 ANGRY MEN ( 1957) 9.0

what is it with old movies and being an absolute masterpiece which this movie is ,12 angry men is a 1957 American courtroom drama film , by Sidney Lumet , which was adapted from a 1954 teleplay of the same name by Reginald Rose , the film tells the story of a jury of 12 men ( objection hearsay xd) as they deliberate to convict or not a teenager charged with murder ( easy one right ) on the basis of reasonable doubt , after they started disagreeing and fighting amongst each other the judge begun to question their morals and values , there are not a lot of wonderful courtroom dramas out there , you can name a few such as Anatomy of a Murder , To kill a Mocking bird and Witness for the prosecution , and this one is definitely one or even the best , the screenplay is so sophisticated and smart , and the story is compelling and intelligent , i  loved this movie so much , plus the acting is out of this world , Henry Fonda did an amazing job he dominates the film with his presence , other actors also did an impeccable job , Ed Begley , Jack Warden ,John Fiedler , Lee J Cobb , Rudy Bond were all amazing , overall brilliant courtroom drama , the movie is about reasonable doubt , guilt this is a movie where tension comes from personality conflicts , i enjoyed this film so much , i know you will to .

That is all the top five movies off all time , you may agree or disagree but at the end of the day these are brilliant films something we hardly get these days .😏
